We raise funds for different local organizations in Edmonton or around the world. If your non-profit or charitable organization wants to offer a class, please let us know. Karma fundraisers are available at no cost.
Organizations we have raised funds for:
- Canadian Mental Health Association – Edmonton Region
- Edmonton Food Bank – Sweet Kula is so very grateful for your generosity in support of the Edmonton Foodbank. We gathered what looks like 200 pounds of food (likely 50 trips up and down those damn stairs to put it in the car, but worth it) and ONE HUNDRED dollars!!! A special thank you to Tasha Weenk at Acquired Taste Tea Company for generously providing a donor prize of a $25 gift certificate to her lovely store.
- BE MORE KIND DAY – Wednesday, September 11, 2019Sweet Kula Yoga was pleased to participate in the second annual “Be More Kind Day” in support of the Canadian Uganda EMS Society (CUES), a new organization working to help train, equip and establish a proper EMS facility and ambulance in Kampala, Uganda. Click the logo for a letter from Dom Dasti, Fundraising Director for CUES, providing details about the organization.
- MENTAL Q – this is a two-person, grassroots organization created by two mothers supporting children with mental health issues. Their goal is to increase awareness and the well being of everyone affected by mental health concerns. Sweet Kula was honoured to donate to their fundraising event in support of the CASA Foundation.
AFFAIR OF THE HEART – This is an annual fundraiser event hosted by medical students from the Faculty of Medicine in support of a local children’s charity. This year the event takes place on November 30 and they are partnering with Edmonton Down Syndrome Society (EDSS), to better serve infants, children, and youth with Down Syndrome and their families in our community. The EDSS works closely to provide education, resources, career opportunities, and other supports to people with Down Syndrome from birth to adulthood. Sweet Kula is excited to contribute to the silent auction and the EDSS kula.

“I attended my first yoga workshop with Sweet Kula Yoga in Banff, Alberta. They created a relaxing and rejuvenating environment in a cozy mountain location. The Hotel provided an excellent space to practice while being close to amenities. The workshop offered 3 different styles of yoga and a group size that allowed for individual adjustments and feedback to those who were interested. The number of classes was perfect for implementing the changes to my practice while allowing sufficient down time to spend on your own or exploring the area. The Sweet Kula team went above and beyond providing breakfast, snacks, and bevies. The retreat was a mix of fun and skill development with a community feel. I’m excited for the next one!”
“The Sweet Kula retreat was my first yoga retreat and it really set the bar high. Chantelle, Janice and Jay created a personable and intimate retreat with a variety of yoga styles, excellent food and a beautiful space to practice in. The retreat was a perfect combination of yoga, socialization and relaxation. They each take the time to get to know you and your practice so by the end of the retreat you really feel like you have connected with sweet kula. I would highly recommend any class, retreat or workshop from sweet kula. They are a wonderful group of 3 that really made you feel like you have found a yoga “home”.”
